Ingredients

  • 1 lb Thinly Sliced ribeye or Flank Steak The key to preparing this dish quickly is using a cut that is tender and thin.

  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
Mediterranean Inspired Salad
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup red onions For these infredients, ingredients, use as much or as little as you want.want. Don't like red onions? Don't use them.
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • a few squeezes honey
  • a couple shakes of black pepper, salt and garlic seasoning
Naan and Tzatki
  • a couple pieces of your favorite store or restaurant naan
  • Pre-made Tzatki sauce. My favorite is Cava.

Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Method

Part 1 – Marinate The Steak (if you have time)
  1. Dump all marinade ingredients into a plastic bag. I place the plastic bag inside a bowl to help keep the bag upright. Next, place the steak inside the bag. Seal the bag and massage the steak with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
Part 1- Season the Steak (If You Don't Have Time)
  1. Generously season steak on both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Part 2 – Prep the Salad
  1. Slice the cucumber and red onion. I used a mandolin. Next slice cherry tomatoes in half. I don't have a cherry tomato slices but if you do,don't, use it, momma!
  2. Place all salad iingredients in bowl and mix.
  3. Place in refrigerator
Part 3- Cook the Steak
  1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and allow to rest for 5 minutes
  2. While the steak is resting, prepare the skillet by turning on the stove and drizzling some oil in the pan
  3. Once heated, place the steaks on the skillet and let it sizzle up! Prepare to your likeness- medium, well done, etc.
Part 4 – Take a Dance Break.
  1. No seriously. Put on your favorite jam and do a little 2 step.
Part 5 – Warm the Naan and Plate It Up
  1. Remove steak from grill. While resting, warm naan in microwave (covered by paper towel) for 15 seconds. Next, remove salad from refrigerator
  2. Plate it up and add a dollop of Tzatki sauce.
  3. Call the kids cause it's time to eat
    Enjoy!

Notes

I prepared the steak marinade on my lunch break. It really only takes about 10 minutes. Once you gather the ingredients, it’s really dumping everything together in a ziploc bag and then tossing in the fridge. If you’re unable to marinade ahead of time– that’s ok. Before cooking, generously sprinkle with a salt, pepper and garlic mix. It’s all about using what you got with the time you’ve  got!
