Oven Baked Taco Smothered Chicken Drumsticks
A twist on the traditional oven baked smothered chicken perfect for taco Tuesday! A dump and bake recipe that is perfect for nights when you can’t babysit the stove.
Ingredients
Equipment
Method
Preheat oven
- Set oven to 450°F
- Season chicken
- Pat drumsticks dry. Rub with oil/butter and season evenly with taco seasoning. I dumped everything into a ziploc bag and shook around.
Make the soon to be gravy
- In a baking dish (9×13 or deep skillet), whisk broth, Worcestershire sauce, Sour Orange. Scoop a few spoonfuls out intona separate bowl. Add flour/cornstarch until smooth to create a slurry. Pour into casserole dish.
- Next, add onions, bell pepper, and garlic.
Add Chicken and Bake
- Add chicken to dish and cover tightly with foil.
- After 30 minutes, remove from oven and uncover. Add in butter, cut into pieces, on the chicken. If a thicker gravy is preferred, add additional flour/cornstarch. Nestle drumsticks into the gravy.
- Return to oven and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes.
Rest, Serve and Enjoy!
- Let rest 5 minutes; gravy will thicken more as it sits.
- Plate and serve with rice! Enjoy!
Notes
This meal definitely takes more than 30 minutes buttttt, the trade off is it’s a dump and bake recipe. So no babysitting the stove.
